Cavepainters Cave

The Cavepainters Cave is a painted sculpture that you can walk into

The Cavepainters Cave is a painted sculpture from 2005. The size of the work is 3m x 3m x 3m. The material of the work is polystyrene and acrylic colors. The exterior features a minimalistic design in an earthy green with subtle gray undertones. The interior of the cave is sculpted organically and has bright contrasting colors. Flat color areas do not follow carved shapes. Cavepainters Cave was first exhibited at Galleria Sculptor in Helsinki in 2005. Later it has been exhibited at Mänttä Art Weeks, Pori Art Museum and Contemporary Art Museum Kiasma. The work belongs to the collections of the Pori Art Museum.

The Cavepainters Cave serves as a direct counterpart to Wallpainters Wall, also from 2005. While the Cave’s interior is crafted organically and intuitively, the Wallpainters Wall is meticulously designed through a programming model. Together, these works reflect Artist’s exploration of contrasting methodologies and artistic expressions, inviting contemplation of the relationship between structure and spontaneity in artist’s oeuvre.
