Und – Und Series of Paintings, Drawings and Sculptures
Und – Und is a series of structural paintings, drawings and sculptures made with different materials. The paintings in the series are oil paint, acrylic paint and gouache works. The drawings are colored pencil and pencil works, the sculptures are painted plaster. The works in the series are abstractions, the shapes of which are partially based on the earlier “Fachwerk Und” work series, whose pictorial ideas were born during my residency trips in Germany. During these trips, I collected shapes related to traditional fachwerk architecture, which I made sketches by drawing and photographing
Watching Kurt Schwitters’ painting “Das Undbild” at the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart in January 2020, I decided to name my next series of works “Und – Und”. Among other things, the title describes a shift in the properties of the works compared to my previous series (Fachwerk Und).
