My oil painting exhibition “One Two Triangle” has now opened at the Alppigalleria in Helsinki. This post is about the exhibition and will be supplemented with pictures and video material during the exhibition.
The subjects of the abstract paintings in my exhibition are compositions I have built from geometric shapes and their combinations. The function of painting, the use of color in these works is to modify emphasis, connections and differences, to bring out the inner drama of the painting. An area painted in a different color or in a different style is different from another area of the same shape. I observe the world of geometric ideas with the same kind of amazement as I would as a landscape painter look at a landscape.

Näyttelyni abstraktien maalausten kuva-aiheet ovat geometrisista muodoista ja niiden yhdistelmistä rakentamiani sommitelmia. Maalaamisen, värinkäytön tehtävä näissä teoksissa on painotuksien, yhteyksien ja erojen muokkaamista, maalauksen sisäisen draaman esilletuomista. Alue eri värisenä tai eri tyyppisesti maalattuna on muuta kuin toinen samanmuotoinen alue. Tarkkailen geometristen ideoiden maailmaa samantyyppisesti hämmästellen kuin maisemamaalarina katsoisin maisemaa
