Net paintings refer to a series of oil paintings featuring repeating web-like patterns with gradual variations in colors and values. The paintings in the series, the oldest of which are from 1993, are characterized by spacious compositions lacking a single focal point for the eye. One can envision the nets extending beyond the painting edges, creating an impression of boundlessness. The overlapping color grid combinations of the paintings create shimmering surface effects.
